Does your “9 to 5” suck?
Been there (but thankfully never done that).
Do you want to know what it really takes to kiss your day job goodbye and become an entrepreneur? Look, It’s not all snapchat filters and glasses of wine (although let’s be real… those things totally happen).
I want to give you a real look at my world. That’s why I’ll be taking you on my journey as an entrepreneur, showcasing the ups and downs of running a business from home, and counting the number of days that I completely forget to shower or leave my house (seriously). There will be info for aspiring bloggers, tips for businesses, and by golly… there will be PINK HEXAGONS.
My name is Kimi Kinsey.
Yup. I have a cool superhero name.
I’m a freelance Graphic Designer, Branding & Marketing Strategist in the Charleston, SC area. I live with the man of my dreams (no, not Evan Peters – his name is Jeremy) and our 4 ridiculous cats.
Not shockingly, I’m a creative, messy Virgo who likes to sweat the details. I’ve never met a color not deserving of love (looking at you olive green), or a font I couldn’t find some kind of appreciation for.
A fresh WordPress install is sexy.
My intent is to educate those who are sick of the daily grind, who desperately want to be their own boss, and want complete freedom from “the man”. Guess what… it’s not all ponies and rainbows.
Making money from home has always been a dream of mine, but it comes with daily obstacles and struggles that most budding entrepreneurs aren’t aware of.
I had the distinct pleasure of being able to quit my retail job in August 2014. I was like a lot of retail workers – overworked, underappreciated, and not very well paid.
But unlike most people who quit their jobs with grand aspirations of working from home in their pajamas all day, I had nearly a decade of experience with finding ways to make money from home, and an incredibly supportive partner who could front the cost of my personal bills while I “built my empire”.
When I was ready to get serious about starting a business from home, not only did I have a safety net, but I had my past experiences to help guide me. I already knew what to expect and what obstacles I would face while working from home.
